Sohagpur (सोहागपà¥à¤°) is a town and a nagar panchayat in Hoshangabad district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It is one of the subdivision and development block in Hoshangabad district. Sohagpur is also one of Legislative constituency of Madhya Pradesh.
Sohagpur is also known for capital of Gondvana Princely state ruled under Nawab Kavi Us Jafar Alvi in British India. The town gets its name from Suhagpur-Sobhagyapur-Shonitpur.
